Omar Marmoush recalls dream Manchester City hat-trick against Newcastle United
Omar Marmoush has described his stunning hat-trick against Newcastle last season as “the best moment up to now” in his Manchester City career.
The Egyptian forward produced an explosive performance in mid‑February, just weeks after his January arrival at the Etihad.
Marmoush opened the scoring in the 19th minute and completed his treble only 24 minutes later, powering City to a 4-0 Premier League victory. “I hadn’t scored for City (at the moment), I’d scored against Chelsea and Liverpool but they were two ruled out goals and then I scored my first against Newcastle,” he explained.
“The moment for the first one was crazy, I had arrived now,” he said, adding that minutes later came a second chance and “another goal.” Everything then “happened so fast” as he sealed his first career hat-trick in the league he had always dreamed of playing in.
Marmoush called it a “crazy, crazy moment” and was quick to credit his teammates, stressing that all three goals came from collective moves. “It’s a dream, you can’t describe it,” he admitted, saying he now just wants to “keep going” and repeat such nights again and again.
