Al Ahly management moving swiftly to conclude deals ahead of the winter transfer window
Al Ahly’s management is putting the final touches on three winter signings aimed at strengthening the first-team squad ahead of a crucial phase in the season.
The Cairo giants are moving actively in the January window as they look to refresh key positions and add depth for domestic and continental challenges.
A source inside the club told Kooora that “Al Ahly has reached a preliminary agreement to sign Youssef Belaamri, the left-back of Moroccan side Raja Casablanca.” The deal would bolster the flank with a player who has impressed in North African competitions and fits the profile targeted by the Red Devils’ recruitment team.
The same source added that Al Ahly is intensifying negotiations to bring in Palestinian midfielder Hamed Hamdan from Egyptian club Petrojet, as the club seeks more energy and creativity in midfield. The source continued: “Sayed Abdel Hafiz, board member and deputy general supervisor of the football sector, traveled to Europe on Thursday morning to negotiate with a centre forward.”
The source concluded that Al Ahly is aiming to complete five signings during the winter transfer window, driven by a clear focus on reclaiming the CAF Champions League title this season.
