Achraf Dari: Morocco centre-back linked with Wydad AC return

Morocco defender Achraf Dari is being strongly linked with a return to Wydad AC from Egyptian giants Ahly SC, with the move rated at a 92% probability according to transfer data.

The 26-year-old centre-back, currently valued at €1.20m, is the subject of advanced speculation over a switch back to the Botola Pro Inwi, where he first made his name with Wydad Casablanca. Data from Transfermarkt lists Wydad AC as the leading contender for his signature, with Ahly SC potentially facing the prospect of losing the defender without a clear contract end date publicly available, raising the possibility of a future free-agent scenario.

Dari only joined Al Ahly from Stade Brestois 29 in August 2024, having previously spent time on loan at Royal Charleroi SC in Belgium. His market value has gradually declined over the past two years, from a peak of €2.5m at Brest to €1.20m in December 2025, a trend that could make a deal more accessible for Wydad.

Born in Casablanca on 6 May 1999, the 1.88m right-footed centre-back progressed through Wydad’s youth and reserve sides before breaking into the first team in 2018 and earning a move to Ligue 1 with Brest in 2022. Spells in France, Belgium and now Egypt mean he would return to Morocco as a far more experienced defender than the one who left.

No recent competitive match details for Dari’s performances at Ahly are listed in the available data, but his profile suggests a player still in demand despite fluctuations in form and valuation. If a move back to Wydad AC does materialise, it could offer Dari a platform to relaunch his career in familiar surroundings and re-establish his reputation at the heart of a title-chasing defence.
