Manchester United target Mali star Mamadou Sangaré ahead of winter window
Mali international Mamadou Sangaré has emerged as a transfer target for Premier League giants, Manchester United ahead of the winter transfer window.
The Red Devils are seeking to bolster their midfield, with Sangaré, who is in the books of French Ligue 1 side, RC Lens pooping up on their radar.
Sangaré is reportedly being considered as a long-term solution for their central midfield role, with his relatively modest price tag giving him an edge over other targets including Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton, and Elliot Anderson.
Besides, fellow Premier League outfits Tottenham and Chelsea are said to be closely monitoring Sangaré’s situation.
Sangaré joined Lens from Rapid Wien this summer for €8 million and has since established himself as a key member of the team, who are making waves in the French Ligue 1 this season.
RC Lens are currently in contention for the French top-flight title, having moved to the summit of the standings with 37 points after 16 matches.
The 23-year-old Malian international has made 15 appearances this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist. Meanwhile, his current contract with Lens runs until 2030.
