Youssef El Kachati is being linked with a surprise return to SC Telstar, with the NEC Nijmegen forward the subject of fresh transfer speculation in the Netherlands.

The 26-year-old centre-forward, currently on the books at Eredivisie side NEC, is rumoured to be attracting interest from his former club Telstar, who are monitoring his situation ahead of a possible move. The probability of the transfer remains unclear, with the deal listed only as “?” in the latest market reports, underlining how early and uncertain these talks appear to be.

El Kachati’s current market value is estimated at €700,000, a figure that will shape any negotiations between the two Dutch clubs. With no public information about the remaining length of his deal at NEC and previous spells where he has been without a club, observers have not ruled out scenarios ranging from a paid transfer to a potential free-agent exit further down the line.

Born in Leiden on 9 November 1999, El Kachati represents both Morocco and the Netherlands at nationality level and operates primarily as a centre-forward, preferring his right foot. Standing at 1.85m, he developed through the youth ranks at VV Noordwijk before moving into Sparta Rotterdam’s academy, progressing from the U19s to the U21s. After a brief period without a club in 2020, he rebuilt his career at VV Noordwijk’s senior side, then crossed into Belgium with Jong Westerlo before returning to the Netherlands with Quick Boys and later Telstar.

His market value has climbed sharply in recent seasons, particularly during his time at Telstar, where it rose from €75,000 in early 2024 to €800,000 by June 2025, before being updated to €700,000 following his move to NEC.

If a return to Telstar does materialise, it could mark another pivotal step in a career already defined by comebacks and steady progression through the Dutch and Belgian systems, offering El Kachati a familiar platform on which to reaffirm his reputation.
