Chelsea are being linked with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, with the Premier League club reportedly monitoring the 19-year-old’s situation in Germany.
Reports in Germany and on transfer databases suggest Chelsea have expressed an interest in the left-sided attacker, who is currently valued at around €20.00m. The probability of a move has not been clearly defined – listed only as “?” – underlining that talks, if any, are still at an early and speculative stage.
Diomande is under contract at Leipzig and there is no public information on the length of that deal or any release clause, leaving his future open to interpretation. With no expiry date disclosed, observers have also noted the theoretical possibility that, if no long-term agreement is in place, his status could evolve and potentially move towards a free-agent scenario further down the line, though there is no indication of that happening yet.
Born in Abidjan on 14 November 2006, the right-footed Côte d’Ivoire youth prospect operates primarily as a left winger in an attacking role. He wears the number 49 shirt at Leipzig and has been identified as one of the Bundesliga side’s emerging talents.
Diomande’s rise has been rapid. After spells in the United States with Yulee Hornets and then DME Academy, he moved to Spanish side CD Leganés in the 2024-25 season. His market value climbed from €600,000 in May 2025 to €1.5m in June while at Leganés, before a transfer to Leipzig saw that figure increase sharply to €20.00m by October 2025.
Having already experienced football in Spain, the United States and now Germany, a potential switch to Chelsea and the Premier League would mark the next significant step in Diomande’s career, and could prove pivotal in shaping both his reputation in European football and his long-term development if a move were to materialise.
