Amin Chiakha attracts European interest as Rosenborg future comes under scrutiny

Amin Chiakha’s performances for Rosenborg BK have begun to attract attention from several European clubs, with the Algeria international emerging as one of the Norwegian side’s most closely watched players this season.

The 19-year-old forward has impressed since moving to Norway, increasing interest in his situation on the transfer market. However, despite the growing attention, Chiakha is understood to be keeping his focus on his current objectives rather than rushing into a move.

Rosenborg invested 5 million euros to sign him permanently from FC Copenhague, underlining the club’s belief in the young striker. His displays could now create opportunities in more prominent European leagues.

Asked by Norwegian newspaper Adresseavisen about the possibility of continuing his career elsewhere in Europe, Chiakha made clear that he has ambitions to progress. His response reflected a desire to develop without taking unnecessary risks or forcing an immediate transfer.

Chiakha remains under contract with Rosenborg until 2030, giving him security and leaving him in control of his short-term future. His market value is estimated at 8 million euros by Transfermarkt, which is higher than the fee Rosenborg paid to complete his signing.

For now, the Algeria international appears to favour continuity with his current club while keeping open the possibility of taking the next step in his career. Any potential move would therefore depend on both future interest and the player’s decision over when the time is right to leave Rosenborg.

Rosenborg are due to play their 24th match of the Norwegian league season against Sarpsborg 08.
