Agents push Jeremie Boga toward Serie A return after shocking Nice ultras clash
Jeremie Boga’s representatives have begun offering the Nice winger to leading Serie A clubs as he looks to force a January exit following a disturbing confrontation with ultras.
The move marks the first significant step in the 28-year-old Ivorian’s push to leave the French side after a turbulent week.
Boga, who previously excelled with Atalanta and Sassuolo, is exploring a swift return to Italy, where he enjoyed his best form.
His camp has approached Roma, Fiorentina and Napoli, according to TMW, with initial conversations already underway.
Although the outreach remains preliminary, negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming weeks as the winter window approaches.
The decision to seek an exit follows a shocking incident on Sunday, when ultras confronted several players and staff on the team’s return from Lorient.
Nice later issued a firm statement condemning the behaviour and outlining the severity of the abuse directed at members of the squad.
In the statement, the club acknowledged the growing frustration caused by recent poor performances but stressed that the scenes witnessed were “unacceptable”.
It confirmed that multiple individuals were targeted, adding that the club “expresses its full support to them and condemns these acts in the strongest terms”.
The situation was even more serious than early reports suggested. Nice clarified that several players and officials had been subjected to “physical (multiple spitting and hitting) and verbal abuse”.
The statement specifically named Florian Maurice, Terem Moffi, Jeremie Boga and Jonathan Clauss as victims of the hostility.
The club added that “two of them are still suffering from physical and psychological consequences that prevent them from peacefully resuming the competition”, highlighting the lasting impact of the confrontation.
Boga, who joined Nice last summer and was expected to play a key role in their attack, is now looking for a way out.
