PSG join race for Ivory Coast defender Guéla Doué

French Ligue 1 side PSG have already held preliminary discussions with the 23-year-old’s representatives, although no advanced negotiations have taken place.

Doué has emerged as an important player in Ligue 1 and is valued by PSG as a versatile defensive option capable of playing at right-back or in central defence.

PSG face competition from Leverkusen

Doué remains under contract with Strasbourg until 2029 and is reportedly valued at around €40m.

PSG could face strong competition from Bayer Leverkusen, who are said to have made the Ivorian their priority target for the right side of their defence.

The interest from two major European clubs reflects Doué’s growing reputation after an impressive campaign in France.

Doué could reunite with brother at PSG

A potential move to the French champions would also give Doué the opportunity to play alongside his younger brother, Désiré Doué.

Désiré has been with PSG since joining the club in the summer of 2024, meaning a transfer for Guéla would bring the siblings together at one of Europe’s leading clubs.

Guéla has already established himself as a regular at Strasbourg, making 34 appearances in all competitions last season, including eight in the Conference League.

Ivorian defender contributed nine goals

Doué made a significant contribution from defence during the campaign, scoring twice and providing seven assists.

His ability to contribute in the final third, combined with his versatility across the back line, has made him an attractive option for PSG and Leverkusen.

With Strasbourg holding him to a contract until 2029, any interested club is likely to face a substantial financial commitment if they want to secure the services of the Ivory Coast defender.
