Aymen Ghrieb had a dramatic cameo for Magdeburg in the 15th round of the 2. Bundesliga against Hertha Berlin at the Olympic Stadium.

Coming off the bench in the 71st minute with the score 0–0, the Algerian winger entered just as the match began to open up. Magdeburg went behind in the 74th minute through Nollenberger, before Ghrieb rescued his team deep into stoppage time.

In the 90th+10 minute, Ghrieb scored his fifth goal of the season with a superb low, angled shot, capping a powerful late push from Magdeburg. The celebration, however, nearly turned into a nightmare. Wanting to share the moment with the travelling fans, he jumped over an advertising barrier to get closer to them but fell into the moat separating the pitch from the stands.

Fortunately, the incident looked far worse than it was, and Ghrieb was able to get back up without serious injury, though the referee still booked him with a yellow card for the celebration. His goal and scare quickly went viral on social media, adding extra drama to an already emotional night for Magdeburg and their Algerian attacker.
