RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande is being linked with a move to Real Madrid, with the 19-year-old Ivory Coast prospect reportedly on the Spanish club’s radar after a rapid rise in value to €20.00m.

The La Liga giants are rumoured to be monitoring Diomande’s situation at Leipzig, where no contract expiry date is publicly listed, leaving observers to note that his longer-term future in Germany is not clearly defined. While there is no stated fee or formal bid, the uncertainty around his deal has also prompted speculation that he could, in time, move closer to free-agent status if no extension is agreed.

Diomande, listed as a right-footed left winger, only joined Leipzig from Spanish side CD Leganés ahead of the 2025–26 campaign. His market value has soared in the past year, climbing from €600,000 in May 2025 at Leganés to €1.5m in June, before leaping again to €20.00m after his move to the Bundesliga club was registered on 14 October 2025.

The rumour, logged on 8 December 2025 with the likelihood of a transfer still marked simply as “?”, underlines how early in the process this interest appears to be. There are no details yet of concrete talks between Leipzig and Real Madrid, nor any indication that discussions are at an advanced stage.

Born in Abidjan on 14 November 2006, Diomande came through the United States system with Yulee Hornets and DME Academy before switching to Europe with Leganés. He has therefore already experienced youth football in both the USA and Spain before stepping into the Bundesliga with Leipzig, where he wears the number 49 shirt.

If Real Madrid do decide to formalise their interest, a move to the Bernabéu would represent a dramatic next step in Diomande’s career, potentially accelerating his development and placing one of Africa’s emerging wide talents on one of the game’s grandest stages.
