Raja Casablanca are facing a new internal dispute over signing bonuses, with some players reportedly demanding payments that are not tied to their on-field performances.

According to Moroccan newspaper Sabah, the disagreement has emerged in recent days, with the club’s sporting director, Rogerio Matias, rejecting the players’ demands and insisting that the terms of their existing contracts be respected.

The issue comes after Raja’s draw against Fath Rabat, adding to the challenges facing the club’s management.

Players seek talks with Raja president

The report states that some players have requested a meeting with Raja president Jawad Al-Zayat to discuss changing the conditions attached to their signing bonuses.

The players reportedly want the bonuses to be paid without being linked to performance requirements.

Some have allegedly threatened to seek the termination of their contracts if the club’s management fails to give them a favourable response.

Raja management seeks resolution

According to Sabah, Raja’s management has held discussions with several of the players involved in the dispute in an attempt to find a solution.

The club is seeking to resolve the disagreement and avoid the termination of contracts as the situation continues to develop.

The outcome of the discussions could determine whether the parties reach an agreement over the signing bonuses and the terms of the players’ contracts.
