Experienced tactician Chokri Khatoui resigns as head coach of Stade Tunisien

Stade Tunisien have confirmed the resignation of their head coach Chokri Khatoui after almost eight months spell at the club.

The 57-year-old trainer, who joined the Tunisian club in March 2025 leaves the club, citing personal reasons and no longer able to fulfil his duties.

“Coach Chokri El Khatoui has ended his tenure with the club for personal reasons. We express our sincere gratitude for his efforts and dedication, and wish him every success in his future” a statement from the club reads.

Chokri Khatoui leaves the club in third place in the ongoing Tunisian league campaign with 26 points. However, the club was eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup in the second preliminary round by the Moroccan club OC Safi.

After a 2-0 defeat in the first leg, the club won 2-0 in the return leg, a victory that fell short of advancing to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

The 57-year-olf trainer has had spells with several clubs on the African continent, managing US Tataouine, Abu Salim SC, ES Metlaoui and others.

Before joining Stade Tunisien, Chokri Khatoui managed Libyan Premier League outfit Al Nasr SC.
