Osame Sahraoui faces a race to regain full fitness after he left Lille’s match against Paris FC in the 72nd minute due to groin pain.

His father, Jaafar Sahraoui, says the Moroccan midfielder suffers from pubalgia and needs strict rest and consistent sleep to recover.

Jaafar Sahraoui spoke to Le Site Info Sport and explained that his son continues to follow a controlled treatment plan. He says the recovery timeline remains uncertain.

When asked about Osame’s chances of playing in Thursday’s Europa League fixture against Dinamo Zagreb, he offered no guarantees.

“Only God knows… everything depends on how Osame responds to the treatment.

The main thing is that he rests to get back in shape,” he says.

Bruno Genesio also addressed the situation after the match. The Lille coach says Sahraoui has struggled with groin pain for several weeks and that the discomfort intensified recently.

Genesio says the medical team continues to monitor the midfielder closely while he follows his treatment programme.

Sahraoui’s case adds to a growing list of young players who deal with pubalgia. Lamine Yamal, Mastantuono and Nico Williams have faced similar problems in recent months.

Specialists say pubalgia often develops when intense physical demands exceed a player’s muscular maturity.

The condition affects the lower abdomen and groin, and players need time, rest and controlled training loads to overcome it.

Lille now waits to see how Sahraoui responds to treatment in the coming days.

The club wants to avoid risks as the 22-year-old remains an important piece of Bruno Genesio’s plans for both domestic and European competition.
