Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Josh Onomah is being linked with a move to DPMM FC, with the Brunei-based side reported to be weighing up a deal for the free agent.

Onomah, 28, is currently without a club after leaving Blackpool FC, and data from Transfermarkt lists DPMM FC, who compete in the Malaysia Super League, as potential suitors. While no fee would be involved due to his free-agent status, his current market value is estimated at €300k, underlining that he would represent a relatively low-risk option for the club. The probability of the move remains unclear, with the report indicating it only as “?”.

The London-born central midfielder, eligible for both England and Nigeria, would bring experience from several tiers of English football should talks progress. Onomah came through Tottenham’s youth ranks, stepping up from their youth and U18 sides into the first team, before permanent spells with Fulham and Preston North End and loans at Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday. His most recent registered club was Blackpool, where he later became a free agent again.

Market value data shows a significant decline from a peak of around €6m during his time at Fulham to the current €300k mark as a free agent, reflecting an interrupted career path and reduced exposure at the top levels in recent seasons. However, his physical profile – standing at 1.85m and operating primarily as a central midfielder with a right-footed preference – still fits the mould of a box-to-box option for sides seeking experience and versatility.

If DPMM FC decide to formalise their interest, a move to the Super League could offer Onomah a fresh platform to rebuild momentum and reshape the trajectory of a career that once promised so much in English football.
