Sadio Mane reaches half-century goals for Senegal
Al Nassr star, Sadio Mane, marked a significant milestone in his illustrious career, notching his 50th international goal for Senegal.
The former Liverpool and Bayern Munich forward netted a first half hat-trick for the Taranga Lions, propelling the side to a resounding 8-0 win over Kenya in an international friendly match on Tuesday.
Mane’s impressive performance has solidified his position as one of the top players in Senegalese football history. His achievement follows a more subdued performance against Brazil, where he failed to score.
The 33-year-old made his debut for the Senegal national team in 2012 and has since established himself as a key member of the team, racking up 50 goals in 117 appearances.
Mane has been instrumental in Senegal’s success, helping the team win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He’s also become the country’s all-time top scorer, surpassing Henri Camara’s record of 32 goals.
The former Southampton star is expected to play a huge role for the Senegal national team in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, to be staged in Morocco.
