Premier League giants Chelsea are reportedly exploring the possibility of re-signing Germany international of Sierra Leonean descent, Antonio Rudiger.
The tough-tackling defender, who is currently sidelined with injury has yet to command a starting role since the arrival of coach Xabi Alonso in the summer.
Rudiger’s situation at Real Madrid has changed dramatically, having lost substantial playing time under Alonso amid fitness concerns this season.
According to reports, the Blues are looking forward to resigning Rudiger, with talks currently underway between the Premier League club and Real Madrid.
Chelsea’s initial offer of around €8 million has been deemed too low by Real Madrid, who are hoping to negotiate better terms.
With his contract expiring at the end of the campaign, Real Madrid is considering a January sale to offset his potential departure. This season, Rudiger has made just one appearance for Real Madrid, against Real Oviedo.
Rudiger joined Real Madrid in 2022 and established himself as a key member of the team, winning the Champions League in the 2023/24 season.
