Werder Bremen’s sporting director, Clemens Fritz, has drawn an interesting parallel between Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface and Brazilian legend Aílton.

Fritz, speaking with Deichstube, highlighted Boniface’s potential and emphasized that the forward still needs some time to find his scoring form for the club.

“I know that a lot is expected of him. Victor is a player who needs a good environment, and he has that here at Werder,” Fritz said.

Fritz added that Boniface reminds him of Aílton’s early days at Bremen. Just like Aílton had Thomas Schaaf, Boniface now has a coach in Horst Steffen who is attentive and supportive, pushing him to grow as a player.

Currently, Boniface is on loan from Bayer Leverkusen and has had a series of substitute appearances for Bremen, making his mark but still seeking his breakout moment. The comparison to Aílton promises hope for fans eager to see Boniface bang in goals for the club.
