Drogba names Mohammed Kudus and Salah as his favourite Africans in Premier League

Didier Drogba has revealed that Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah are his favourite African players currently featuring in the English Premier League.

The Ivorian legend, who made history at Chelsea as one of Africa’s greatest exports, expressed admiration for the duo’s quality and consistency.

Kudus has impressed since joining Tottenham Hotspur in a £55 million move during the summer transfer window.

In his first nine Premier League appearances, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder has registered one goal and four assists, standing out as one of Spurs’ most creative outlets.

No winger in Europe’s top five leagues has provided more assists, accurate crosses, or successful attacking actions this season.

Speaking to Sporty TV, Drogba said: “I like Kudus. I used to like [Nicolas] Jackson because I saw a lot of similarities [with myself].

“Of course, my brother, of course, Mohamed Salah, King Salah.”

Drogba’s praise comes as Kudus continues to establish himself as a key figure in Thomas Frank’s Tottenham side.

His vision, work rate, and technical skill have been central to Spurs’ strong start to the campaign, and he is expected to play a crucial role in their upcoming London derby against Chelsea.

Salah, meanwhile, remains Liverpool’s most dependable forward despite a noticeable dip in his goal-scoring rate compared to previous seasons.

The Egyptian international has scored three goals and provided two assists in the Premier League so far, while his total in all competitions stands at four goals and three assists.

Even with fluctuating form, Salah continues to break records, recently surpassing another milestone for goal contributions with a single club in the Premier League.
