Paul Pogba is closing in on his long-anticipated first appearance for AS Monaco, according to manager Carl Pocognoli.

Pogba, a World Cup winner and former Juventus star, has been out of action since June due to an 18-month suspension for a doping violation, significantly reduced from an initial four-year ban after a ruling found his infraction unintentional.

Pocognoli updated fans before the weekend’s Ligue 1 action, noting Pogba still needs to complete full training sessions at top intensity, a feat he hasn’t achieved yet. While there is optimism in the Monaco camp, the coach suggests a bit more patience is needed, whether Pogba debuts before or after the international break is still uncertain.

The French midfielder’s return has energized both teammates and supporters at Monaco. After months of reintegration and recovery, Pogba’s presence on the training field already boosts morale around the club.

All eyes are now on his final steps back to competitive football, and Monaco fans eagerly await his long-overdue return to spark their campaign.
