Paul Pogba takes part in AS Monaco group training ahead of Tottenham clash in UCL
AS Monaco manager Sébastien Pocognoli has delivered a positive injury update ahead of his team’s UEFA Champions League showdown with Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, confirming that Paul Pogba has rejoined group training.
Although Pogba is not expected to feature in the match, his return to training marks an important milestone in his recovery following a recent setback.
“The process with Paul is step by step. Yesterday, he joined with the group for the first time since I arrived as manager. He was smiling, he was enjoying it, and interacting with the players. For me, this is the first step and this step can take days, it can take two or three weeks,” said Pocognoli.
The manager also confirmed that young defender Christian Mawissa has returned to first-team training, though the Tottenham clash may come too soon for his full return to action.
Meanwhile, Monaco will still be without Lukas Hradecky, Vanderson, and Lamine Camara, who remain sidelined.
However, Pocognoli assured that there are no new injury concerns ahead of the crucial European fixture.
