Alphonso Davies set to resume full training at Bayern Munich
Canadian defender of Liberian descent, Alphonso Davies, is set to resume full team training at Bayern Munich.
The 24-year-old left-back has been sidelined since suffering a cruciate ligament tear while on international duty with Canada in March.
However, there is now renewed optimism at Bayern as Davies continues to make significant strides in his recovery.
According to Bild, the defender has made excellent progress in recent weeks, and his return to full training is expected soon. The report adds that Davies is targeting a comeback to Bayern’s matchday squad before the end of the year.
Head coach Vincent Kompany recently confirmed that while Davies is not yet ready for competitive action, his return is getting closer.
“He’s progressing well. If everything goes according to plan, we could see him back in December,” Kompany said.
Latest information from sources in Germany indicates that Davies is now ready to return to full first-team training. Although he is not expected to feature in the clash against Dortmund, he could be back the following weekend.
