REVEALED: Bayern Munich attempted to sign French-Guinean striker Alassane Plea last summer
It has been revealed that Bayern Munich almost signed French forward of Guinean descent Alassane Plea during the 2025 summer transfer window.
Plea, who eventually joined PSV Eindhoven after seven years with Borussia Mönchengladbach, was reportedly on the radar of Bayern sporting director Max Eberl, the same man who originally brought him to Gladbach.
According to a documentary released by PSV, club managing director Marcel Brands disclosed that he had contacted Eberl before finalising the deal for Plea.
“He was very positive about him. He thought his level was good and even considered bringing him to FC Bayern to add depth,” Brands revealed.
Ultimately, Bayern opted to strengthen their attack with Luis Díaz and Nicolas Jackson, leaving the move for Plea unrealised.
The 32-year-old forward is currently sidelined with a serious knee injury sustained in August and has yet to make his debut for PSV.
