French-Cameroonian star Kylian Mbappé hits back at media over 'false stories' about Vinicius Junior relationship

French forward Kylian Mbappé has criticised the media for spreading false narratives about his relationship with Real Madrid teammate Vinicius Junior, insisting that there is mutual respect and harmony between them.

In an interview with former Real Madrid player and manager Jorge Valdano on Movistar Plus, Mbappé said reports suggesting tension with the Brazilian winger were exaggerated and unfounded.

The Real Madrid star, who was born to a Cameroonian father and an Algerian mother, stressed that he and Vinicius share the same ambition of winning trophies for the Spanish giants.

“Two famous players on the same team sell a lot of paper, they sell a lot of things,” Mbappé said, addressing rumours of rivalry between the pair.

He went on to describe Vinicius as both a talented player and a good person, rejecting claims that their overlapping roles on the left wing had caused any friction within the team.

“I have a very good relationship with Vinicius. Much better this year; we got to know each other much better. He’s a great player and, as a person, a very good person,” he explained.

Mbappé’s comments come amid persistent speculation that his arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu last summer unsettled the dressing room, particularly after Vinicius’s form dipped in the opening months of the season.

However, the French star made it clear that both he and Vinicius are committed to working together for the club’s success.

“We know people talk about us for everything, but we have the same goal: to help Real Madrid win titles.

“I think if we want to win titles, we have to be at our best and help the whole team,” he said.
