Egyptian defender Ahmed Hegazy returns to scoring ways in Saudi Pro League
Egyptian defender Ahmed Hegazy, captain of Neom, finally found the back of the net, delighting fans with a brilliant header against Al-Riyadh in the fourth round of the Saudi Roshen Professional League.
Hegazy timed his jump perfectly, meeting a precise cross to score, marking his first goal in the league in 907 days. His last league goal came on April 4, 2023, also with a header, while playing for Al-Ittihad against Damac.
Since joining Neom from Al-Ittihad, Hegazy has been a crucial part of the team, helping guide them to qualify for the Roshen League at the start of last summer’s season. His leadership on and off the pitch has been instrumental for the squad, even as he waited patiently to make his mark in the league’s scoring charts.
During his career at Al-Ittihad, Hegazy scored 12 goals in various competitions. His new goal with Neom is not just a statistic but a symbol of resilience and consistency, showing that experience and determination can deliver moments of brilliance even after a long wait.
