For three months Luis Enrique sang “Ousmane Ballon d’Or” whenever he saw me – Ousmane Dembele
Ousmane Dembele has opened up with a smile about a playful routine with Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique, recalling how the coach constantly boosted his confidence during a season that ended with the biggest prize of his career.
The PSG forward, fresh from lifting the 2025 Ballon d’Or, revealed that Enrique would break into a special chant whenever they crossed paths, a gesture that made him feel valued and motivated throughout the campaign.
“For three months, Luis Enrique has been singing ‘Ousmane Ballon d’Or’ every time he sees me,” Dembele said, laughing as he reflected on the bond he has built with his manager.
His triumph at the Ballon d’Or gala came after he earned 1,380 votes, finishing ahead of Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal. The accolade crowned a season where Dembele played a starring role in PSG’s first-ever treble, which included Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and the long-awaited Champions League crown.
