Al Ahly plot focused build-up for Zamalek clash
Al Ahly are tuning their plans carefully as they prepare for the much-anticipated league battle with Zamalek on Monday.
Interim coach Emad El-Nahhas has rolled out a program aimed at keeping the squad fresh and concentrated after their hard-fought 3-2 win over Haras El Hodoud.
According to Kooora, the players were granted a rest day on Wednesday before resuming daily training at Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium. The sessions will continue until Saturday when the team moves into a closed camp to sharpen focus for the derby.
Club football director Walid Salah El-Din delivered clear instructions, stressing the importance of a total media blackout and halting public training access until the summit contest is over. He also told the squad that talks about contract renewals will remain on hold to avoid distractions.
Zamalek currently sit on top of the Egyptian Premier League with 17 points after eight matches, while Al Ahly follow in fifth place with 12 points from seven. Fans are eagerly waiting for a showdown that could reshape the table.
