Kaizer Chiefs captain Inacio Miguel says the club is ready to end its winless run when it faces Red Arrows in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round tie in Durban on Friday evening.

Speaking to media in KwaZulu-Natal, the centre-back said Kaizer Chiefs had settled comfortably in Durban and felt equally at home when travelling to other parts of the country.

“We are always home,” Miguel said, highlighting the support the team receives across South Africa.

The return fixture gives Kaizer Chiefs an opportunity to change their recent fortunes after a run without victory. Miguel acknowledged the team’s current situation but expressed confidence that the players could respond in the Durban encounter.

He also addressed the relationship between the squad and the coaching staff, saying communication between the two groups remained clear. That was the case despite some members of the technical team speaking French, with Miguel indicating that language differences had not prevented the players from understanding the coaches’ instructions.

The defender’s comments came as Kaizer Chiefs prepared for a decisive continental fixture against Red Arrows. The match is the second meeting between the sides in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Coach Da Cruz also provided a short update on the team’s injury situation before the game. Although Kaizer Chiefs are currently dealing with an availability problem in midfield, he said the club’s injury record had improved so far this season.

The midfield concerns add to the selection issues facing the coaching staff ahead of the return leg, but no further details about the affected players were provided.

Miguel’s message was focused on the team’s response, the clarity of its communication and the backing it receives from supporters in Durban and elsewhere in the country. Kaizer Chiefs will now look to turn that confidence into a result against Red Arrows and bring their winless spell to an end.
