Zed FC showed resilience on Monday evening as they frustrated Al-Ittihad Alexandria in a tight Egyptian Premier League clash at Cairo Stadium.

The draw highlighted Zed’s growing character in the top flight and left fans praising the team’s effort.

Shadi Hussein gave Al-Ittihad the early lead in the 13th minute, sending the visiting supporters into celebration. But Zed kept their shape and stayed in the game, refusing to fold under pressure. Even without technical director Mohamed Shawky on the touchline, the team remained disciplined. Shawky served his suspension from the stands after being expelled in the previous match against Pyramids, yet his influence was felt in how the side managed the contest.

Al-Ittihad, under new coach Tamer Mostafa, hoped to bounce back with a strong performance, but frustration grew as Zed’s defense held firm. The Alexandria side could not break through despite enjoying long spells of possession.

The result gave Zed a valuable point while leaving Al-Ittihad still searching for momentum. F
