Algerian international Ilan Kebbal named Ligue 1 Player of the Month for August
Ilan Kebbal has been voted Ligue 1’s Player of the Month for August by the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP), capping a sensational start to the season for the Paris FC midfielder.
The 27-year-old Algerian international, who returned to the French top flight this summer, has quickly established himself as one of the standout performers of the opening weeks.
In just three matches, he has contributed three goals and one assist, underlining his decisive influence on Paris FC’s attack.
Kebbal, a former Stade de Reims player, left Ligue 1 in 2022 but played a pivotal role in Paris FC’s promotion from Ligue 2 last season.
His seamless adjustment back to the top level has been highlighted by several decisive displays.
A brace against Metz was instrumental in securing victory, while against Olympique de Marseille, he combined a goal with an assist in a match where his side ultimately fell short.
Such performances earned him the recognition of supporters and observers alike, with his creativity, flair, and consistency setting him apart from his rivals.
In the voting, Kebbal edged out Paris Saint-Germain’s Joao Neves and Lyon midfielder Tyler Morton, both of whom also made strong starts to the campaign.
This award reflects not only my form but also the hard work I’ve put in over the last two years, Kebbal said after receiving the accolade. Coming back to Ligue 1 with Paris FC is special for me, and I’m determined to help the team achieve its goals this season.
For Kebbal, the honour carries added significance.
It marks a personal renaissance after a period of uncertainty, during which he dropped down a division before helping Paris FC earn promotion.

Now the technical leader of his side, he is central to their hopes of staying in Ligue 1 and competing with more established teams.
The midfielder’s resurgence has also been noticed on the international stage.
With Algeria preparing for crucial fixtures in the months ahead, Kebbal’s return to prominence strengthens his chances of re-establishing himself within the national setup.
Known for his vision, agility, and ability to dictate play, Kebbal has quickly become one of the most entertaining figures in Ligue 1’s early weeks.
For Paris FC, his form offers both reassurance and ambition as they navigate the challenges of top-flight football.
For the player himself, it represents the continuation of a career revival that has only just begun.
