Karim Fouad back in training as Al Ahly prepare for Zamalek clash
Karim Fouad is ready to lace his boots again for Al Ahly, a timely return as the Red Devils prepare for crucial league battles, including the much-anticipated showdown with rivals Zamalek.
The left-back has shaken off the knock that sidelined him during Egypt’s national team camp. His recovery comes as a boost for the squad ahead of next Tuesday’s Egyptian Premier League game against Haras El-Hodoud.
A source at Al Ahly told Kooora that the defender has been given the green light to rejoin full training. “After today’s recovery training, the team will undergo two training sessions tomorrow and the day after, then begin a closed camp on Monday in preparation for the Border Guards match.”
“Karim Fouad will participate in tomorrow’s training session, but the decision on his participation against Haras El-Hodoud is in the hands of interim coach Emad El-Nahhas,” the source added.
Fouad’s return means he will be fit for selection in the derby against Zamalek, following the Haras El-Hodoud test.
The 23-year-old had missed Al Ahly’s 1-0 win over Ceramica Cleopatra.
