Modern Sport strikes late to snatch dramatic draw with Enppi

Modern Sport showed determination at Cairo Stadium as they pulled off a dramatic 2-2 draw with Enppi in the seventh round of the Egyptian League on Thursday.

The team, urged on by their coach Magdy Abdel-Ati, refused to accept defeat and delivered a thrilling finish for their fans.

Enppi started brighter and broke the deadlock in the 39th minute through Mohamed Sherif Hathout, who capitalized on a defensive slip. Modern Sport fought back after halftime when substitute Hossam Hassan made an instant impact, leveling the score in the 53rd minute with a calm finish.

The visitors looked to have sealed all three points when Moroccan striker Youssef Aoubaba struck in the 79th minute to restore Enppi’s advantage. But the drama was far from over. In the dying seconds of stoppage time, Mahmoud Mamdouh rose highest to head home a precious equalizer, sending the Modern Sport bench into wild celebrations.

The result lifted Modern Sport to 11 points, holding third place, five behind leaders Zamalek. Enppi climbed to 10 points and now sit in fifth.
