Cameroonian forward Kevin Soni in advanced talks with Paris 13 Atletico

Kevin Soni is closing in on a move to Paris 13 Atletico as the Cameroonian forward looks set to relaunch his career in France.

The 27-year-old has been without a club since parting ways with Serbian top-flight side Železničar Pančevo earlier this year.

Despite being a regular starter, Soni chose to terminate his contract only six months after his January 2025 arrival, during which he made eight appearances and scored once.

Trained at Bordeaux, the Cameroonian international has had a nomadic career, with spells in Spain, Romania, Israel and Greece.

His next chapter appears likely to be in the French third tier, where Paris 13 Atletico have opened negotiations and are understood to be close to finalising an agreement.

Discussions between the Parisian club and Soni’s representatives have been ongoing for several days.

Both parties are reportedly optimistic about reaching a deal, which would see the striker return to French football for the first time since his formative years.

Interest in the forward had also come from Turkey earlier in the transfer window, but the prospect of a return to familiar surroundings appears to have tipped the balance.

Valued at €400,000 on Transfermarkt, Soni is seen as a player capable of adding attacking depth and experience to a Paris 13 Atletico side with ambitions of climbing the French football pyramid.

The club will soon face Châteauroux in the seventh round of the Championnat National, a fixture that could underline their aspirations for the season.

While odds place Paris 13 Atletico as slight favourites, the potential addition of Soni could further strengthen their attacking options in the coming weeks.

For Soni, the move represents more than just a return to France.

It offers a chance to stabilise a career that has seen him play across multiple leagues and adapt to varied footballing cultures.

A successful stint in Paris could provide the platform to restore momentum and prove his worth once again at a competitive level.

If finalised, the deal would reunite the former Indomitable Lion with French football fans and give Paris 13 Atletico a forward with international pedigree and a hunger to reignite his career.
