‘I don’t play for money; I play for fun’ – Azzedine Ounahi after joining Girona FC

Moroccan talent, Azzedine Ounahi, has emphatically stated that his football decisions are not motivated by money.

The talented player just sealed a move to Spanish La Liga outfit FC Girona.

Speaking after his unveiling on Tuesday, Azzedine Ounahi said he did not join the club because of money but to have fun and continue his development.

“Since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of playing for a big club, and now I’m going to experience that here. I don’t play for money, but for fun and to grow as a professional player,” Azzedine Ounahi said.

The midfielder further noted, “Choosing Girona was very easy. It’s true that other clubs were interested in my services, but I felt that here I would be surrounded by my family, and that the atmosphere would help me develop and succeed. I didn’t think much about it; the decision was clear.”

Azzedine Ounahi, 25, will be hoping to hit top form at Girona FC in the coming weeks to earn a place in the Morocco squad for not just the October international break, but the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
