National Bank of Egypt striker Osama Faisal chooses loyalty over Al Ahly move
Osama Faisal’s decision to remain with the National Bank of Egypt instead of joining Al Ahly at the start of the season has been praised by the club’s leadership.
The young striker, who has impressed for the Egyptian national team, decided that staying put was the right path for his development.
Major General Ashraf Nassar, Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt, revealed that Faisal turned down Al Ahly’s approach.
“We are open to selling Osama Faisal after the Africa Cup of Nations, depending on good offers that may be presented locally or abroad,” Nassar said.
He also explained that while Al Ahly’s players were struggling early in the season, Faisal’s choice was respected. “We won’t stand in the way of any player leaving if the offer is appropriate and the desires of the technical staff and the player are in line with that.”
Nassar stressed that reported transfer figures were “imaginary,” and added that coach Tarek Mostafa was thanked due to the team’s poor league start.
