Ismael Bennacer edges closer to Turkish move as Milan door shuts
Ismael Bennacer’s time at AC Milan looks to be drawing to a close, with the Algerian midfielder now edging closer to a switch to the Turkish Super Lig.
For a player who once dictated Milan’s rhythm, the prospect of leaving without much of a farewell reflects how quickly football changes.
Renowned journalist Matteo Moretto shared on X: “Trabzonspor is still striving to reach a full agreement with Bennacer and Milan regarding a potential transfer. Talks are ongoing.”
Bennacer’s exclusion from Massimiliano Allegri’s squad this season has been telling. The midfielder has not only been dropped from matchday plans but also cut from training with the first team, a clear sign that Milan are moving forward without him.
The Rossoneri bolstered their midfield over the summer with the four players. That depth has left little room for Bennacer, who remains under contract until 2027.
Saudi side Al-Ittihad Jeddah showed interest earlier this summer but never formalized a bid. For Bennacer, Turkey now looks like the path to a fresh start.
