Pyramids FC triumph over Al Ahly to climb higher
Pyramids FC celebrated a night of joy at Al-Salam Stadium after defeating rivals Al Ahly 2-0 in the Egyptian Premier League’s fifth round on Saturday.
The win gave their fans reasons to cheer and pushed the club into the top three of the table.
Moroccan star Walid El Karti was the hero of the night. He opened the scoring as early as the 5th minute, reacting quickly after a free kick bounced off the post. In the second half, he doubled the lead with a powerful header in the 68th minute, sealing a memorable victory for the team.
Coach Krunoslav Jurčić’s men looked sharp from the start, creating several early chances through Fiston Mayele and Karim Hafez. Al Ahly responded through Mohamed Sherif, but goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy denied him with a brilliant save that lifted Pyramids’ spirit.
The loss left Al Ahly stuck on 5 points in twelfth place. Frustration grew among their fans, who voiced anger and demanded changes, including calls for Spanish coach Jose Riveiro’s dismissal.
Pyramids now stand tall with 8 points and growing confidence.
