Former Al Ahly striker Alaa Ibrahim has voiced his concern about the team’s current form and believes new signing Nejc Gradišar lacks the quality to lift the Red Castle.
Speaking in radio comments, Ibrahim expressed disappointment with how the squad has shaped up in recent matches. He stressed that the overall technical level of the team has dropped, something supporters have noticed on the pitch.
“Wessam Abu Ali has left a void. Al-Ahly needs a stronger striker than Mohamed Sherif. Gradishar is not enough for Al-Ahly and is an average player. He will not benefit the team, and the bench is too large for him,” he said.
Ibrahim further explained that Abu Ali once solved attacking struggles the club had endured for years, but his exit has reopened old problems.
He also criticized Mohamed Hany, saying his abilities fall short of what Al Ahly needs in a right-back. On Zizo, Ibrahim admitted the player looked far better at Zamalek, while his current displays remain below expectations.
