Ismahila Ouédraogo is set to leave Atromitos Athens for Danish side Odense Boldklub, just a year after joining the Greek club.

The 25-year-old Burkinabe international has attracted strong interest from Odense, who view the defensive midfielder as a valuable addition to their squad.

According to reports, the Danish club has tabled an offer of €1 million for Ouédraogo, which Atromitos have accepted. Only final formalities are understood to be pending before the transfer is officially concluded.

Ouédraogo arrived at Atromitos last year and quickly made his mark with consistent displays in midfield. His ability to shield the defence while contributing composure in possession earned him recognition in Greece and beyond, sparking interest from clubs seeking stability in the centre of the pitch.

Despite being contracted to Atromitos until June 2027, the Athens club is willing to sanction his exit this summer, seeing value in the proposed deal.

The midfielder is now preparing to travel to Denmark, where he is expected to undergo a medical before signing his contract with Odense.

If confirmed, the move would represent the next stage in his European career, after three seasons in Greece.

Ouédraogo began his professional journey in Burkina Faso with AS Douanes before moving abroad to continue his development.

His time in Greece provided a platform to showcase his defensive intelligence, stamina, and tactical awareness, traits that have drawn praise from coaches and analysts alike.

While Atromitos offered him the chance to compete regularly, the opportunity to test himself in the Danish Superliga has proven too significant to ignore.

Odense Boldklub, a club with a long tradition in Danish football, has made strengthening its midfield a priority. By investing in Ouédraogo, they are banking on a player still approaching his prime, with the versatility and discipline to adapt quickly to a new league.

His arrival is expected to bolster the team’s defensive structure while adding balance in transitional play.

For Atromitos, the transfer marks the end of a short but productive chapter. Ouédraogo’s performances over the past season were instrumental in helping the side maintain competitiveness in the Greek Super League. Yet with the financial terms of the deal agreed, the club has opted to allow him to continue his progression elsewhere.

Ouédraogo currently carries an estimated market value of €700,000, according to Transfermarkt, making Odense’s €1 million offer a significant investment and a statement of intent regarding his potential impact.

The midfielder’s career trajectory has been steadily upward, from domestic football in Burkina Faso to Greece, and now towards Denmark.

For the player, the move provides another opportunity to prove himself in Europe, with the chance to test his qualities against a new style of competition and further elevate his profile on the international stage.

As he prepares to finalise his switch, Ouédraogo remains focused on continuing his growth and cementing his place as one of Burkina Faso’s key exports.

The deal, once officially confirmed, will underline his status as a player ready to take the next step in his career while providing Odense with a promising addition at the heart of their midfield.
