Cameroonian defender Gaby Kiki is attracting fresh attention on the transfer market following the end of his contract with Kazakh side Aktobe, with Turkish Süper Lig club Gaziantep FK reportedly monitoring his situation.

The 29-year-old, who had been set for a move to Russian Premier League club Krylia Sovetov Samara earlier this summer, saw that transfer collapse after failing a medical examination.

Despite the disappointment, his availability as a free agent has kept him on the radar of several European sides keen to bolster their defensive options before the close of the window.

According to Africafoot, Gaziantep FK have expressed genuine interest in bringing the centre-back to Turkey, while clubs from the Czech Republic and Poland are also believed to be tracking his progress.

However, no formal offers have been submitted at this stage.

Kiki, a Cameroon international born in Yaoundé and developed at Eding Sport FC, is thought to be seeking an annual salary of around €300,000 in his next contract.

His market valuation currently stands at €700,000, according to Transfermarkt.

The experienced defender has built a steady career across multiple leagues, combining strength in aerial duels with composure on the ball.

His free-agent status makes him an appealing option for clubs searching for cost-effective reinforcements, particularly in light of his international experience.

Gaziantep FK, who are aiming to strengthen their squad ahead of a demanding Süper Lig campaign, view Kiki as a potential addition to their defensive line.

The Turkish club have been actively exploring options in the transfer market, and the Cameroonian’s availability presents an opportunity to secure depth without a transfer fee.

While the failed medical at Krylia Sovetov has raised questions, Kiki’s representatives remain confident that he will secure a deal in Europe.

With interest from multiple clubs and time still available in the window, his future could be resolved swiftly should Gaziantep or another suitor decide to make a formal approach.

For now, the Cameroonian defender remains one of the more intriguing free agents on the market — a player with proven experience, searching for the right platform to relaunch his career at the top level.
