Enppi finally tasted victory in the Egyptian Premier League after edging past Wadi Degla 1-0 on Saturday evening in the second round.
It was a much-needed moment of relief and joy for the team and their supporters.
The breakthrough came in the 54th minute when Tunisian forward Rafik Kabou fired a strong shot into the net, leaving the Wadi Degla goalkeeper with no chance. The goal lifted the players’ spirits and gave Enppi the belief they had been searching for since the season began.
After a goalless draw with Pharco in their opening fixture, Enppi entered this match determined to turn possession into points. Coach Hamza El Gamal’s men showed greater energy and focus, and the win rewarded their persistence. The result pushed Enppi to four points and sixth place in the table.
For Wadi Degla, it was a frustrating evening. Having shared points with Pyramids FC in their first outing, Mohamed El Sheikh’s side remained stuck at one point in 14th place.
Enppi face Ceramica Cleopatra on Wednesday, while Wadi Degla prepare for Petrojet.
