Egyptian Professional Clubs Association stands firm on venue rules in Ismaily dispute
The Egyptian Professional Clubs Association has stood firm on its regulations by rejecting Ismaily SC’s late request to move their upcoming match against Al-Ittihad Alexandria to the Suez Canal Authority Stadium.
The decision highlights the body’s determination to maintain fairness and order across the league.
Ismaily SC had hoped to return to the Suez Canal Authority Stadium after clearing debts that had previously blocked its use.
The club saw it as a chance to get closer to its fans, especially with the ongoing ban from using its traditional home, Ismailia Stadium.
But the timing worked against them. With only three days to go before the match, the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association ruled the request out. Its guidelines clearly state that any stadium change must be submitted at least ten days in advance, leaving no room for flexibility.
For Ismaily SC, the ruling means another game played away from their preferred surroundings.
