Mali international Demba Diallo is on the verge of signing for Al Wehda after parting ways with Turkish side Manisa SK.

The 24-year-old winger, who recently ended his spell in Türkiye, has been approached by the Mecca-based club as they prepare for life in the Saudi second division following their relegation from the top flight at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Determined to secure an immediate return to the Saudi Pro League, Al Wehda have identified Diallo as a key addition to strengthen their squad.

Initially expected to join Turkish outfit Göztepe, the move was overtaken when Al Wehda stepped in with a more attractive offer.

The Saudi club are understood to have presented Diallo with improved financial terms, along with additional benefits, convincing him to choose a new challenge in the Middle East.

Diallo leaves Manisa SK after several seasons in which he established himself as a regular feature in the team. During his time at the club, he played 132 matches across all competitions, contributing nine goals and 18 assists.

His pace, creativity and ability to stretch defences made him an important attacking outlet, and he now looks set to bring those qualities to Saudi football.

For the Malian winger, the move marks the beginning of a fresh chapter in his career. After years of competing in Türkiye, he was eager to explore a different league, and Al Wehda’s project has provided the opportunity. At 24, he still has room for growth, and the Saudi side hope he can play a decisive role in their push for promotion.

The decision to recruit Diallo reflects Al Wehda’s determination to bounce back quickly from relegation. The club, which carries strong ambitions and a loyal fanbase, are reshaping their squad with the clear aim of securing an immediate return to the elite. Diallo’s experience at both domestic and international level makes him a valuable signing as they seek to rebuild momentum.

Although the contract has yet to be officially finalised, the deal is close to completion, and an announcement is expected in the coming days. For Diallo, the move offers not only a fresh professional challenge but also the chance to make his mark in one of the most rapidly developing football markets.

If confirmed, his transfer will underline Al Wehda’s intent to combine local talent with international experience as they prepare for the demanding campaign ahead. Diallo’s arrival is likely to be one of the first significant steps in their bid to regain top-flight status.
