Algerian international Billal Brahimi is set to join Polish side Cracovia Kraków after the club reached an agreement with OGC Nice for the winger’s transfer.
The 25-year-old will move to Poland in the current transfer window to fill the void left by Bosnian international Ajdin Hasić, who faces at least six months on the sidelines through injury.
Brahimi, who is valued at around €1.8 million, primarily operates on the left wing but has also been deployed across the attacking line.
He began his football journey in Portugal with Leixões U19 before spells with Middlesbrough U23 in England and Stade de Reims B in France.
His senior career has taken him to Le Mans FC, Stade de Reims, Angers SCO, OGC Nice, Stade Brestois, and Belgian club Sint-Truiden, before returning to Nice.
Africafoot previously reported that the Algerian had attracted offers from several clubs, including Umm Salal in Qatar, French outfit Laval, and Saudi Arabian sides Damac and Al Riyadh.
Despite the financial incentives those deals may have presented, Brahimi opted for the challenge of playing in the Polish top flight, aiming to regain regular playing time and re-establish himself on the European stage.
His most recent stint at Nice saw limited opportunities, prompting the search for a move that could provide a fresh platform for his talents.
Known for his pace, dribbling ability and direct attacking style, Brahimi will be expected to bolster Cracovia’s offensive threat as they navigate the remainder of the season.
Cracovia Kraków are preparing for their fifth-round Ekstraklasa clash against Widzew Łódź.
The encounter comes with competitive odds from betting company 1xbet, which has priced a Cracovia win at 2.20, a draw at 3.20, and a Widzew victory at 2.95.
While Brahimi is unlikely to feature immediately, his arrival has already sparked optimism among the Cracovia faithful.
The Algerian will be hoping that his move to Poland serves as the turning point in a career that has seen glimpses of promise but has yet to fully ignite at the highest level.
The deal is expected to be formally announced in the coming days, with Brahimi eager to make an instant impression once he links up with his new teammates.
