Premier League outfit Chelsea have officially tabled a £43 million offer to sign France international of Malian descent Ibrahima Konate in the current transfer window.
Konate, who is in the books of fellow Premier League giants Liverpool has yet to sign a new deal with the club, with his current contract expiring in summer 2026.
The Reds now risk losing the 26-year-old defender for free, with talks over a new deal hanging in the balance.
However, Chelsea, who keen to strengthen their defense for the 2025/26 football campaign has joined the race to sign Konate.
Chelsea see Konaté as an excellent option to strengthen their back line for the upcoming season, counting on his commitment and Premier League experience.
In an attempt to land Konate, the Blues has launched a £43 million bid to lure the solid defender this summer.
Meanwhile, the Franco-Malian defender remains a target for Spanish giants Real Madrid, who intend to sign Konate as a free agent next summer.
Last season, the Frenchman made 42 appearances for the club, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists.
