French Ligue 1 outfit Lille have slapped a €20m on DR Congo international Ngal’ayel Mukau amid growing interest in the current transfer window.
The 20-year-old defensive midfielder has attracted significant interest from Premier League outfit West Ham United, who are keen to secure his signature before the commencement of the new campaign.
Lille have already transferred goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier to Paris Saint Germain, with Bafodé Diakité set to seal a move to Bournemouth.
However, West Ham United, who are keen on signing the Congolese international will have to pay more for the acquisition of the midfielder.
Amid Lille’s high demands, Lille will have to fork out a large amount of money to convince the French outfit to sanction a move for the Congolese.
West Ham monitored the midfielder last Saturday when they clashed with Lille in a preseason friendly match. Mukau was in good form, demonstrating his ability to drive from deep as he played the full ninety minutes in the 1-1 draw (and even scored his penalty during the 5-4 shootout, which the English side won).
Mukau joined Lille in summer 2024, with his current contract expected to elapse in summer 2024.
