Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports has reaffirmed its support for Ismaily SC ahead of the club’s extraordinary general assembly scheduled for Tuesday.
The meeting will decide whether the current board, led by Nasr Abu Al-Hassan, continues or faces change.
A Ministry source told Kooora that there is hope Ismaily will rise again to its past glory, stressing that the government respects the will of the club’s members.
“We have worked to provide all means of success for the Ismaily board of directors to help them rescue the club from its current crises. This is what Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, has focused on with several decisions to support the club,” the source said.
Once the general assembly reaches a quorum, voting will begin. If not, or if the threshold for a confidence vote is unmet, the current board will remain until its term ends.
Ismaily began their league campaign with a goalless home draw against Petrojet. The club made no summer signings due to a transfer ban over unpaid dues.
