Guinea will take on tournament hosts Uganda on Friday evening in a decisive Group C encounter at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025.
The match, which concludes the second round of group fixtures, will be staged at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala.
Kick-off is set for 8:00pm local time (GMT+3), corresponding to 5:00pm in Guinea and 7:00pm in France.
Fans in Guinea can follow the action live on Canal+ Sport 1 and the national broadcaster RTG.
No television coverage has yet been confirmed for audiences in France.
Guinea enter the match in strong form, having opened their campaign with a narrow but valuable 1-0 victory over Niger.
That result has placed them joint top of Group C, level on points with Algeria but behind on goal difference.
Victory in Kampala would put them in a commanding position to progress to the quarter-finals, maintaining their perfect record of advancing beyond the group stage in previous CHAN appearances.
The Syli National A’ have a notable pedigree in the competition, having reached the semi-finals in both 2016 and 2020, ultimately finishing fourth and third respectively.
This experience, coupled with their disciplined start in this year’s tournament, makes them one of the early favourites to qualify from the group.
Uganda, by contrast, find themselves under pressure.
The Cranes A’ suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Algeria in their opening fixture, leaving them at the bottom of the standings.
With only two group matches remaining, the hosts must avoid another loss to keep alive their hopes of reaching the knockout stage — a feat they have yet to achieve in seven previous CHAN campaigns.
A positive result against Guinea would not only revitalise their chances but also offer a much-needed morale boost to a side seeking to make history on home soil.

The challenge will be significant, as Guinea’s defence proved resolute in their opener and their counter-attacking play has been sharp.
This will be the first time Guinea and Uganda meet in CHAN competition, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the contest.
The hosts will be banking on passionate home support to tilt the balance, while Guinea will look to their tournament know-how to overcome the challenge.
With the stakes high for both sides — Guinea aiming to consolidate their lead and Uganda fighting to keep their campaign alive — Friday’s showdown promises to be one of the most compelling fixtures of the group stage.
