Infantino lauds Morocco’s world-class football infrastructure
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has hailed Morocco’s remarkable strides in football infrastructure, saying the country has firmly established itself within the “global football elite.”
Speaking to reporters during the royal reception for Throne Day, hosted by King Mohammed VI, Infantino praised Morocco’s visionary leadership and commitment to advancing football on the world stage.
“Under His Majesty the King’s guidance, Morocco’s ambition to promote football excellence globally is truly outstanding,” Infantino said.
Recalling his recent visit to Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, he lauded Morocco’s flawless organization of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations held from July 5 to 26. “I want to congratulate Morocco on its impressive performance during this continental tournament,” he added.
Looking ahead, Infantino highlighted Morocco’s growing role in international football as the nation prepares to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
He described Morocco’s football infrastructure as “exceptional,” a key factor enabling the country to stage prestigious competitions.
Infantino also noted FIFA’s decision to establish its Africa office in Morocco, emphasizing its central role in supporting football development across the continent and beyond.
With sustained investment in state-of-the-art facilities, Morocco continues to position itself as a leading football nation in Africa, progressing steadily toward meeting the highest international standards.
