Tamer Mostafa’s coaching journey has taken him through some of Egypt’s biggest clubs, but his time at Ismaily stands out not for trophies, but for the challenges he faced and the talent he uncovered.
Known for his calm style and tactical mind, the former El Mokawloon El Arab player took over Ismaily during one of its most unstable periods, yet still left a mark.
“I took over the leadership of the Dervishes at a very difficult time out of my love for this club, which I consider one of the pillars of Egyptian football,” Mostafa told Kooora.
“I led the team to achieve third place in the Egyptian Capital Cup, but after the end of the season, I requested some things from the management, most importantly resolving the registration crisis. However, we did not reach an agreement, so I preferred to leave and not renew my contract.”
He’s proud of giving young players a platform. “I achieved many victories, and I discovered some rising talents and gave them the opportunity to participate with the first team. They will have a significant impact in the coming years,” he added, naming Ibrahim Abdel Aal, Ibrahim Al-Najawi, and goalkeeper Abdullah Jamal.
